Feeling the Quality Payment Program Pinch? We Can Help

As I work with practices, I am finding fear. I hear “It’s too late in the year.”  “I can’t do anything.” ” I don’t have an EHR!” “There are too many things to keep up with!”

Here is what I can say to all of those concerns, “I understand.”

Resources in small practices are limited. There is not just the Quality Payment Program but also initiatives by commercial payers and Medicaid payers. These are universal barriers for small practices. You are not alone. All of the other small practices in your area are feeling this pinch as well.

Qsource and the atom Alliance Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organizations (QIN-QIO) are here to help. We are a resource for you at no cost.

Allow us to help you reach your goal as easily as possible. If you do not have an EHR, we can help with your quality measures and Improvement Activities (IA). If you have an EHR but have never reported in the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) or Meaningful Use (MU) programs, then you are in a good position to succeed. If you have an EHR and have reported PQRS and MU, you are in an even better position for success.

There are many other scenarios in small practices, but this is not as hard as it may seem. You can just report one quality measure for one patient or report one IA. We can help you do this in very little time. One of the Improvement Activities is the use of the controlled substance drug database in Tennessee. If you are already doing this, you can simply report on this one activity and avoid a decrease in your reimbursement.

If you want an excellent chance at an increase in your Medicare reimbursement, then we can easily find quality measures that fit and will help you succeed. If you have reported PQRS in the past, you’ve already done what will make you successful.

If you have reported PQRS and MU, you are in an even better position. Essentially, just keep doing what you have been doing.

Contact us if you haven’t reported and breathe a sigh of relief. If you have contacted us, please update us on your progress. You may reach me by phone at (865) 314.4077 or email cthompson@qsource.org.

We are motivated to help you succeed. I look forward to hearing from you.
