Pain

Pain Management for nursing homes
Every resident has the right to be as comfortable and pain free as possible. Pain is whatever the experiencing person says it is, existing whenever he/she says it does. Pain may be persistent or acute. It is an uncomfortable sensation. Pain is a way for the body to send a signal to the brain. Acute pain is related to specific situations, procedural or diagnosis related, is somewhat predictable in duration, and there is anticipated complete resolution. Persistent pain persists and recurs for indefinite periods of time. Acute and persistent pain may occur at any time.
