Qsource Bringing Real-World Survey Strategies to THCA Spring Retreat
Qsource is heading to the upcoming Texas Health Care Association Spring Retreat, where Amanda Odom, Quality Services Director, and Linzie Bugg, Quality Improvement Advisor, will take the stage to share practical strategies for strengthening survey readiness and reducing deficiencies in long-term care. The event will take place at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas, bringing together leaders from across the state to explore approaches that support quality care and regulatory compliance.
Their session, “Mitigating the Top 10 Nursing Home Deficiencies in Texas,” will provide a practical look at the survey process and what facilities can do to strengthen systems, reduce risk, and improve outcomes.
Inside the Survey Process
This live session offers a unique perspective shaped by both regulatory and operational experience. Linzie, a former multi-state nursing home surveyor, and Amanda, a seasoned clinical leader and Director of Nursing, will walk participants through how surveys are conducted, what surveyors are evaluating, and where facilities often fall short.
The focus is on real-world application. Attendees will gain insight into how successful facilities approach daily operations, identify risk areas early, and build systems that support consistent compliance.
Practical Strategies That Make an Impact
Participants will leave with clear, actionable strategies that can be implemented immediately across teams and departments. The session will highlight:
-
Common patterns behind repeat deficiencies
-
Practical tools used by high-performing facilities
-
Steps that can be applied at the unit level and across the organization
-
Approaches that support stronger survey readiness and sustained performance
This session is designed for leaders who want to strengthen day-to-day practices and ensure their organization is prepared for any survey environment.
